What the square dining table block is
This block represents a square dining table, supplied as a single plan-view block reference. The outline is the four-sided top, with the central pedestal or corner legs shown inside so you can judge knee room and chair tuck. A square dining table seats four — one to a side — and pushes together with others to form larger rectangular runs.
As a block it copies, rotates and arrays as one object, which is exactly how you build a grid of cafe squares. Editing the definition updates every instance at once. The geometry is drawn to true dimensions, so the footprint and the gaps you leave between tables are accurate. Where the source DWG carries an elevation, you also get the side profile for interior elevations and sections.
Views and what is included
The plan view is the working view: the square top from above, placed and arrayed across a kitchen, dining room or cafe floor with four chairs each. It drives the clearance checks against walls, runs and gangways.
Keep the tables on a dedicated furniture layer so you can freeze them for a structural plan and thaw them for the furnished layout from the same drawing. Typical sizing to design around
A square dining table for four is usually around 850–1000mm a side, which gives each diner roughly the 600mm or so of edge a place setting wants. Smaller cafe squares run 600–750mm a side for two diners facing each other, while larger squares around 1200–1500mm a side seat two per side for eight when needed.
Dining height holds around 720–760mm with the apron clearing roughly 600mm for chairs. A four-seater square is modest on floor: keep at least 900mm of clear space behind each chair, rising to 1100mm where that strip is a walkway. For cafe grids, you can run tables closer and combine them for larger groups. Use these as ranges to verify the layout, not fixed specs on the block.
How to insert and scale the block
The DWG is drawn in millimetres. Insert at scale 1 in a millimetre drawing, 0.001 in a metre drawing, or set INSUNITS to millimetres so AutoCAD rescales on insertion; 0.03937 converts millimetres to inches on a US imperial template.
Run INSERT or drag the file from a palette, and pick the insertion point at the geometric centre of the square so it rotates and snaps predictably when you build a grid. Set the current layer to your furniture layer first. As a single block reference the square arrays cleanly into rows and grids, and BEDIT lets you change the definition once to update every table together — handy when you adjust the cafe table size across a whole floor.

The square table suits compact kitchens, apartment dining, cafes and bistros, food courts, breakout corners and any setting where tables need to tessellate or combine. Its symmetric footprint pushes neatly against walls and into grids, and a pair of squares makes a flexible larger table for bigger parties.
