A wooden dining set — the table with its matching chairs, drawn as one assembly — is the block that furnishes the dining area of almost every residential plan and plenty of hospitality ones. Drawing it as a set rather than placing a bare table and then individual chairs saves real time and keeps the chairs spaced correctly around the table every time. This page collects free wooden dining set CAD blocks in DWG and DXF: four- and six-seater sets with round, square and rectangular tables, drawn at true millimetre sizes and ready to insert into AutoCAD 2004 or later. Free for personal and commercial work, no signup, no watermark.

The advantage of a dining set block is that the geometry is solved for you: the chairs are already at the right reach from the table, evenly spaced, with the correct pull-out clearance shown. Drop one in and you have a complete, believable dining setting that you can check against the room around it — the gap to the wall, the path to the kitchen, the swing of a door — without arranging six chairs by hand. The set blocks here ship both plan and elevation in many files, so you can build the layout and the matching elevation from a single download.

What's in a wooden dining set block

A dining set block is a table-and-chairs assembly drawn as a unit: the table top with its chairs arranged around it for the stated cover count. In plan, the set shows the table footprint and the chair positions with their pull-out zones — which is exactly what you place in a room and check the clearances against. In elevation, the set shows the table at dining height with the chairs face-on, the view you use for interior elevations and presentation sheets.

The blocks keep the table and chairs distinguishable on layers, so you can show the bare table for a joinery or setting-out drawing and the fully-set assembly for the furniture plan. Because it is a single block reference once inserted, you can copy, rotate and mirror the whole set as one object, and a later edit to the definition updates every instance.

Views and what's included

Wooden dining set downloads commonly ship both a plan and a front elevation in the same DWG, since the dining area is one of the few furniture groups people regularly draw in both views. The plan is for layout — placing the set in the room and checking circulation; the elevation is for interior-elevation and presentation sheets, where the set is shown against a wall or window.

The elevation carries the dining-height relationship — the chair seat meeting the table at the right line — so the drawing reads correctly. Where a file holds multiple views, insert the one you need and freeze or explode the others.

Typical dining set sizing to design around

Design around these ranges. Table height: about 740 mm. Four-seater table: 900 mm square, or 1200 × 800 mm rectangle, or 900–1050 mm diameter round. Six-seater table: 1500–1800 mm × 850–900 mm rectangle, or 1200–1350 mm diameter round. Allow roughly 600 mm of table edge per cover. Chair seat height about 450 mm; pulled-out chair adds 450–550 mm of depth.

For the room around the set, leave at least 900 mm — and ideally 1000–1100 mm — of clear floor on each side where people pull chairs out and walk behind them; closer than that and the dining area feels tight. The scaled set makes these checks visual: place it, and you can see at a glance whether the room can take a four- or a six-seater.

How to insert and place the set

The blocks are full size in millimetres. Insert at scale 1 in a millimetre drawing, 0.001 in a metre template, or set INSUNITS to millimetres so AutoCAD rescales on insertion. Snap the insertion point to the centre of the table, drop the set into the dining area, then rotate it to align with the room and check the clearance to each wall.

Because the set is one block reference, you can drop it, test it against the room, and slide or rotate the whole thing in one move rather than nudging six chairs. Keep it on the furniture layer so the dining area freezes and thaws as a unit. If a project reuses the same dining setting, the set is already the reusable block you want — no need to re-WBLOCK it.

Where wooden dining set blocks are used

Dining set blocks furnish the dining area of residential plans — houses, apartments, open-plan kitchen-diners — and carry into hospitality and contract work: restaurant and cafe layouts, hotel rooms and suites with a dining table, serviced apartments, and clubhouse or amenity-space dining. Anywhere a plan needs a believable, correctly-spaced table-and-chairs group, the set block does it in one placement.

Pair the dining set with the kitchen blocks to complete an open-plan kitchen-diner, with the sofa cluster for the adjacent living zone, and with the outdoor table-and-chair set for an al-fresco dining area on a terrace or patio — all from one scaled, licence-clear library so the whole dwelling reads consistently.

Questions

Frequently asked

Does the dining set block include the chairs?+

Yes — a dining set block is a table-and-chairs assembly with the chairs already arranged around the table at the right spacing and pull-out clearance. The table and chairs sit on separate layers, so you can show the bare table or the fully-set assembly from the same block.

What sizes do the dining sets come in?+

Four-seater sets (900 mm square, 1200 × 800 mm rectangle, or 900–1050 mm round) and six-seater sets (1500–1800 mm rectangle or 1200–1350 mm round). Allow roughly 600 mm of table edge per cover, which the chair spacing already reflects.

Do the dining sets come in plan and elevation?+

Many ship both views in the same DWG — a plan for layout and a front elevation for interior-elevation and presentation sheets — so you can build the dining area and its matching elevation from a single download. The views available are listed on each block's page.

Are the wooden dining set blocks free for commercial use?+

Yes. Every block downloads free in DWG and, where available, DXF, with no signup, no watermark and no attribution requirement, and they are cleared for commercial project use.
