A four-seater dining table is the most-placed table in residential drawings, and this page supplies it as a scaled DWG block in whichever shape fits your room. A four-seater works as a 1000mm round, an 850–1000mm square, or a 1100–1200mm rectangular table seating two a side. The block is drawn full size in millimetres so it inserts at real dimensions into AutoCAD 2004 or later, and it is free for personal and commercial use with no signup, no watermark and no attribution.

Four covers is the default for apartments, small family homes, kitchen-diners and cafe-style settings, so a correctly-scaled four-seater is a block you will use constantly. Insert it and you can check chair spacing and circulation against the room in a glance, whether you are laying out a studio flat or a row of cafe tables.

What the 4-seater table block is

This block represents a dining table sized for four covers, supplied as a single plan-view block reference. The footprint may be round (about 1000mm), square (about 850–1000mm) or rectangular (about 1100–1200mm long), depending on the version that suits your layout. The leg or pedestal position is shown so you can read knee room and where the four chairs tuck.

As a block it copies, rotates and arrays as one object, which makes it easy to repeat across an apartment block or a cafe floor. Editing the definition updates every instance at once. The geometry is drawn to true dimensions, so spacings you measure are accurate. Where the source DWG carries an elevation, you also get the side profile for interior elevations and sections.

Views and what is included

The plan view is the working view: the tabletop from above, placed and then ringed or flanked with four chairs. It drives clearance checks against walls, kitchen runs, sideboards and circulation routes.

Keep the table on a dedicated furniture layer so you can freeze it for a structural plan and thaw it for the furnished one from the same drawing. When a download bundles several views in the same DWG, insert the plan for layout work and freeze or explode the rest. The file is AutoCAD 2004 format and opens in current AutoCAD, AutoCAD LT, BricsCAD, DraftSight and free DWG viewers without conversion, so any collaborator can use it.

Typical sizing to design around

For four covers, a round dining table is usually around 900–1100mm in diameter, a square one about 850–1000mm a side, and a rectangular one roughly 1100–1200mm long by 750–900mm wide, seating two along each side. Allow about 600mm of edge per place setting.

Dining height holds around 720–760mm with the apron clearing roughly 600mm for chairs. A four-seater is modest on floor: keep at least 900mm of clear space behind each chair, rising to 1100mm where that strip is also a walkway, which puts a single table in a zone of roughly 2.6–2.8m in each direction. Use these as ranges to verify the room, not fixed specs on the block.

How to insert and scale the block

The DWG is drawn in millimetres. Insert at scale 1 in a millimetre drawing, 0.001 in a metre drawing, or set INSUNITS to millimetres so AutoCAD rescales on insertion; 0.03937 converts millimetres to inches on a US imperial template.

Run INSERT or drag the file from a palette, and pick the insertion point at the centre of a round or the geometric centre of a square or rectangular top so the table rotates predictably. Set the current layer to your furniture layer first. As a single block reference the four-seater arrays cleanly across a residential or cafe layout, and BEDIT lets you change the definition once to update every copy together.

Where the 4-seater is used

The four-seater appears in apartments, small family homes, kitchen-diners, studio flats, cafes and bistros, hotel rooms and breakout corners. The round version suits tight corners and sociable settings; the square and rectangular versions push against walls and into runs more readily.

Pair it with dining-chair, bench, sideboard and rug blocks from the furniture category to assemble a dining scheme quickly. As a licence-clear file it carries from concept to a coordinated FF&E set without re-drawing, and being the commonest table size it is a staple of student and competition boards needing believable, correctly-scaled furniture.

Questions

Frequently asked

How big is a 4 seater dining table?+

A round four-seater is about 900–1100mm in diameter; a square one about 850–1000mm a side; a rectangular one roughly 1100–1200mm long by 750–900mm wide. Plan around 600mm of table edge per place setting.

Which shape of 4-seater should I choose?+

Use a round in tight corners and for sociable dining, a square for compact symmetric rooms, and a rectangular where the table sits along a wall or in a run. This page links round, square and rectangular four-seaters.

What units and scale is the block drawn at?+

Full size in millimetres. Insert at scale 1 in a millimetre drawing, 0.001 in a metre drawing, or set INSUNITS to millimetres so AutoCAD rescales automatically when you insert the block.

Is the 4-seater block free to use commercially?+

Yes. It downloads free with no signup, no watermark and no attribution, and it is cleared for commercial use as well as personal and student projects.
